3' Wybron Power/Data DMX Cable - 4-Pin
Product Description

While we invented the scrolling color changer over 20 years ago, we didn't start out with remote power supplies. Until we brought out Coloram, cabling between color changers and the power supply was an afterthought. We realized that the power requirements for an extended string of changers needed more ampacity than was standard practice in 1989. So, we designed a cable for our products that would deliver enough power and clean control signal to ensure reliable operation. This cable has become a standard, just like our color changers.
Delivering enough power to the color changer head was our first concern. We specified a pair of 14 AWG tinnned, anealed copper conductors and then made them flexible by insisting on 41 small wires rather than 19 larger ones. Then we wanted a shielded data cable which because of the balanced communication protocol in all Coloram IIs, required 2 22 AWG and a shield and a drain wire. Then of course the last trick was to make it fit into an XLR connector. We had the cable custom made for us 12 years ago and it still says Coloram/Forerunner on it. It has since become standard with almost all Wybron products requiring a power supply. Look for the name if you want the best.
Wybron Power/Data Cables are made up with black Neutric 4-pin connectors which mate perfectly with the silver Neutric connectors on the RAM Power Supplies and the heads. Why not black connectors on the heads and power supplies? Because they are too hard to see when making a connection on dark stages, and when the connection is made the black line connector covers nearly all of the silver anyway. We also include clear heat shrink on each end of the cable so you can add a label with your company name and/or the cable length. Use heat on the shrink tubing and everyone knows it's yours.
